This case involved three employees that all left the client business at the same time. All three held critical business roles at three different hierarchical levels in the business. One being a Director.
There was a suspicion that these individuals had breached their contract by setting up a competing business against our client. In addition, there was a strong suspicion that data had been taken which was going to assist in the start and rapid growth of that business.
Initial intelligence was required and a covert tracking device was deployed on each of the employees vehicles and the movements were monitored for a period of a month. During that month evidence clearly showed that the three employees were associating together at a business premises, attending premises of many existing clients of our client, and also visiting the premises of suppliers to our client. All in breach of their contract.
Based on the intelligence gathered other investigative resources were deployed which assisted in proving the breach-of-contract and the client was able to take civil process in order to resolve their issue and the breach-of-contract, causing minimal disruption and cost to their business.
